Dr. Elaine Klesius
Dr. Klesius, the owner of Fairview Animal Hospital, grew up on a farm in Kentucky where she discovered her love for animals when she was very young. After graduating magna cum laude from Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 1995, she practiced in Atlanta, Georgia and Maryville, Tennessee before coming to Asheville in 2014. Dr. Klesius is passionate about building relationships with clients and her interests include internal medicine, dentistry, dermatology, and surgery. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, gardening, swimming, and spending time with friends and family. Dr. Klesius and her husband, Stephen, have two sons, four cats, and a feisty terrier, Miley.
Dr. Charles H. Lloyd
Dr. Charles Lloyd, DVM is a 1982 graduate The University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine and one of the founders of Fairview Animal Hospital. Serving the community since 1984, Dr. Lloyd is proud of the lasting relationships he has maintained with his clients and their families over many years. When not caring for patients, Dr. Lloyd enjoys working outdoors, visiting family, and travel photography. He and his wife, Becky, have two children, two grandchildren, and two dogs.
Sarah
Sarah has been dedicated to veterinary medicine since 2000, building her career from kennel technician to veterinary assistant, earning her Registered Veterinary Technician credential, and now serving as Fairview Animal Hospital’s Practice Manager. She loves creating a welcoming experience for clients and patients while supporting her team and helping pets feel comfortable during every visit. Outside of work, Sarah enjoys spending time with her family, including her three children and her lovable English Mastiff, Gus.

Laura
Veterinary Assistant
Laura joined the Fairview Animal Hospital team while preparing for veterinary school, after being a client of the practice for more than 12 years. She is excited to turn her lifelong appreciation for the hospital into hands-on experience caring for pets and supporting their families. Outside of work, Laura enjoys skiing, playing pickleball and volleyball, reading, and drawing.
MacKenzie
Veterinary Assistant
MacKenzie has four years of experience as a veterinary assistant and enjoys helping pets and their families feel comfortable during every visit. She loves the close-knit team at Fairview Animal Hospital and the welcoming environment that allows lasting relationships to grow with clients and their pets. Outside of work, MacKenzie enjoys hiking, walking her dog, snuggling with her cats, reading, playing video games, watching movies, riding motorcycles with her husband, and exploring new arts and crafts.
Melanie
Melanie obtained her BA in Economics and Business Administration from Warren Wilson College and then went on to earn her Veterinary Technology degree from AB Technical Community College in 2017. Melanie loves using her skills to assist in treating patients and is passionate about preventative medicine and client education. Outside of work, Melanie enjoys reading, pet-sitting, and spending time with her husband, Dean, and their two daughters, four dogs, and two cats.
Henry
Henry brings a year and a half of pet care experience to his role as a Customer Service Representative at Fairview Animal Hospital. He loves making a difference in the lives of the people and animals he works with each day. Outside of the hospital, Henry enjoys hiking, camping, drawing, painting, and spending time with his friends, family, and pets.
Jody
Jody loves building relationships with clients, teammates, and their pets, believing that everyone at Fairview Animal Hospital quickly becomes family. She enjoys helping create a welcoming experience for every visit and has a lifelong passion for working with animals. Outside of the clinic, Jody spends time with her furry family, which includes a Greater Swiss Mountain Dog, a Newfoundland, a cattle dog mix, and two cats. She also enjoys painting, woodworking, reading, and cozy mornings spent snuggling with her pets.
Kasey
Kasey is one of the friendly faces you’ll see when you visit Fairview Animal Hospital. She enjoys getting to know every cat, dog, and pet parent who walks through the door, and takes pride in helping create a positive experience for each visit. When she’s not at the clinic, Kasey enjoys spending time with her children, volunteering at the Madison County Animal Shelter, and relaxing with her two beloved cats, Felix and Salem.
Grace
Grace brings 10 years of pet care experience to Fairview Animal Hospital as a Customer Service Representative and Registered Veterinary Technician. She especially loves seeing the incredible bond between pets and their families and enjoys continuing to learn about animals. Outside of work, Grace enjoys reading, taking short getaways, thrift shopping, and spending time with her partner, Jack, and her 25-pound Norwegian Forest cat, Trixie, who is smart, feisty, and fiercely loyal.
